Valheim Seed Viewer

A version-aware guide to map previews, seed inputs, creation versions, and accurate world-file uploads.

01

What the viewer can show

A Valheim seed viewer can preview the complete biome map and points of interest, including Forsaken Altars and dungeons, from a seed or uploaded save data.

A world seed initializes world generation, but worlds using the same seed have the same layout only for a given game version, so the preview is version-specific.

Select the game version in which the world was originally created, not the version you are currently playing.

02

Choosing the correct input

How do I supply the correct world information?
If you know the seed, copy it from beneath the world name and enter it directly. If you are unsure, an FWL file can extract it automatically. You can also select the matching metadata and database files together; for a dedicated server, first download those files through the host.
When should I upload the complete world files?
For a world created before the Deep North on September 10, 2026, use world-file reading for accurate locations because upgrades reshuffled locations. The viewer also warns that worlds created before build 0.202.19, including 0.202.14, can have incorrect predicted locations and should use World Upload. Select both matching files: Dog.fwl with Dog.db for a legacy world, or a matched pair such as _main.4.fwl2 with _main.4.db2 for a new world.
